The Alizadeh Ensemble is one of the few major Iranian music ensembles to perform in the West as well. They use the traditional instruments ney (flute), zurna (oboe), tar (long-necked lute), santur (trapeizodal zither), kemanche (spike fiddle) and tonbak (drum).
